One of the DealGirls recently had a birthday… I’m not saying who it is but her first intial is a V. One thing you probably don’t know about her (I’m not sure she really wants anyone to know this— so sorry for sharing your secret V!) is she likes dough… not just the green kind for gettiing great deals but also the kind for making tasty sweets… cookie dough, cake batter.. you name it!
No lecturing! I know there are tons of you out there that are dough addicts or closet dough lovers. And those who aren’t, know that we strive to eliminate the food safety risks that may gross you out.
But food safety doesn’t apply to this story. For the recent DealGirl’s birthday, I made a special dough-related treat that with no real dough! And it was easy! Thanks to a post that I found via Pinterest and the blog, How Sweet It Is I made my birthday DealGirl Cake Batter Rice Krispie bars.
My recipe is slightly different… but adapted from How Sweet It Is.
6 cups Rice Krisipes
4 Tablespoons butter
10 ounces FRESH marshmallows
1/3 cup Funfetti cake mix
Sprinkles
First melt the butter in a large, deep pot. add the marshmallows and over medium or low heat, melt the marshmallows.

After they melt… remove the pan from the heat and quickly mix in the Rice Krispies and cake mix. Mix only until everything is evenly coated. Press into a buttered pan– any size will do… a 9X13 pan makes nice size treats but an 8X8 pan will make much thicker treats. Sprinkle top VERY liberally with sprinkles.

Let set for about an hour. Cut and wrap bars.

Enjoy your cake batter treat…. our DealGirl Birthday girl sure did!

Yum! Yours look delicious! Happy Birthday Deal Girl
